JV Boys Win Final Home Game of Season

The Warriors hosted Batavia in their final home game of the season and came out victorious with a score of 4-1.  Last year, the JV boys gave up two first half goals against Batavia and pulled back three in the second half to grab the victory.  This year, the Warriors never gave up the lead.  Batavia started the game strong and had several early attempts on goal.  As the game progressed, the Warriors were able to gain more possession and pushed Batavia back.  In the 20th minute, Jack Kilgallon played a ball behind the Batavia defense.  Luke Holwerda made a run from the left wing and after an excellent first touch to control the pass, hit a signature left footed strike into the far netting.  Just before halftime, a Batavia defender dealt out a heavy challenge and was a given a yellow card.  A few minutes into the second half, the same Batavia defender went in on another reckless challenge and received his second yellow card of the night, forcing his team to play a man down for the rest of the game.  The Warriors quickly capitalized.  The second goal came off of an excellent build up where Kade Clousing laid the ball off for Owen Hardy, who passed it into the box.  DJ Pollino hit a strong shot on goal, but was saved by the keeper and deflected to the top of the box.  Kade Clousing sent a rocket into the back of the net for his 16th goal of the season.  Kade scored goal #17 of the season a few minutes later after heading in a corner from Jack Kilgallon.  The final goal of the night came from Seamus Kilgallon from a 25 yard shot.  Batavia pulled back a goal with ten minutes left in the game, but the Warriors held onto the victory, coming out on top 4-1.
The Warriors will play their final game of the season against Marmion on Thursday.
