JV Warriors Stay Undefeated in Conference with Sweep of Riverside-Brookfield

The JV Warriors had the WA Tennis Park to themselves tonight for a rescheduled conference match with Riverside-Brookfield, so it was up to them to ensure that Wheaton Academy maintained an unblemished record on its new courts. The match was delayed when the Bulldogs once again experienced bus trouble, but once they arrived the JV Warriors proved up to the task.

Wheaton Academy jumped out to a quick lead when Dylan Zanke took his opponent to the bagel factory with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at 2nd Singles.  A few minutes later, Alex Howland and Jaden Paulson also served up double bagels to their opponents with a 6-0, 6-0 win at 1st Doubles.  The JV Warriors then locked up the team victory when Noah Starkey beat his opponent 6-1, 6-1 at 1st Singles.  Not satisfied with just a win, Lewis Cai added to WA's point total when he wrapped up a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win at 3rd Singles, and then Evan Shelton and David Stoner completed the sweep with a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 victory at 2nd Doubles.

The 5-0 sweep of Riverside-Brookfield raised the JV Warriors' record to 3-0 in conference and 5-1 overall.

Up Next: the Warriors will look to stay undefeated in the Metro Suburban Conference when they rejoin the Varsity team on Tuesday for a home conference match against Fenton.
