Boys Soccer vs West Chicago - 3/9/2021

The Wheaton Academy Warriors lost to West Chicago 0-1 in the first game of this unique 2021 spring season at Performance Trust Field. After seventeen months without IHSA boy's soccer, Wheaton Academy battled the defending 3A state champions to a 0-0 first half. The game saw a few chances for each side in the opening 40 minutes; play was a physical battle in the middle third of the field. The visitors would take the lead, and the victory, in the 60th minute after a cross took a couple of deflections in the penalty area before finding its way to the back of the net. Declan Finnegan played 80 minutes in goal during his first varsity start with 1 goal against and 7 saves, including a huge double save in the first half to keep the score level. 

The Warriors return to action on their home field Thursday, March 11th against Aurora Central Catholic and again on Saturday, March 13th against Geneva.
