The Warriors defeated Schaumburg and advanced to the quarterfinals of the St. Charles JV Tournament at the top of their group. The Warriors needed a tie to secure advancing, and would secure first place in the group with a victory over Schaumburg. The game would be the fourth in the span of 18 hours for the JV Boys and fatigue was starting to take over. However, the Warriors were able to maintain a strong effort and held the game scoreless until the final minutes of the game when Schaumburg won a corner and threatened to grab a late winner. The Warriors brought all 11 players back to defend the corner. As the corner was sent in,
Kade Clousing won the ball at the six yard line with a powerful header. The Warriors cleared their line and rushed forward.
Kade Clousing stole the ball from a Schaumburg defender and was off to the races. With a one-on-one with the keeper, Kade showed great poise and finished a great goal and capped off a run that took him from his own six yard box to the Schaumburg goal. The game ended 1-0 and the Warriors empathically grabbed 1st place in the group.
They advance to the quarterfinals and will play again on Saturday against the 2nd place finisher in group B.
