Boys Defeat Conference Rival

The Warriors travelled to play Riverside Brookfield today in a game that ended 2-0 in favor of Wheaton Academy.  Riverside Brookfield are in the process of renovating their home field, meaning the game was played at a local park on a difficult field.  The ground was difficult for connecting passes and the small size also hindered the Warriors typical approach.  However, Wheaton Academy was able to battle through the game and provided an important conference win.  In the 30th minute, after several chances on goal, Owen Setran crossed the ball took Eli Lebo who finished with what has been dubbed "the atomic knee".  Eli opened the scoring and the Warriors controlled the tempo of the game.  In the second half, Matthew Oster played an excellent ball over the ball line and Owen Setran took the ball clean out of the air and volleyed into the net for the 2-0 lead.  The win extends the Warriors unbeaten streak to 8 games and they were able to register another shutout.  The Warriors play again on Saturday at home against St. Charles East.
