The Wheaton Academy boys basketball team suffered a tough 63-46 loss to West Chicago in their first game back of the new year. After a slow start for both team the Warriors would find themselves down 11-7 at the end of the first quarter. Despite an 8 point second quarter from Senior,
Jameson Teuscher, a 3 point basket by West Chicago at the end of the second quarter would leave the Warriors trailing 33-21 at half. Wheaton Academy would pull the game within 10 in the fourth quarter but a cold shooting night from the floor hindered the Warriors chance to complete the comeback.
Junior,
JD Gunn paced with way for the Warriors with 14 while Sophomore,
Jack Dykema and Senior,
Jameson Teuscher each cracked double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, January 6 as they travel to Riverside Brookfield. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
