Wheaton Academy generated 331 yards of total offense against St. Edward's 160 in a game that would mark St. Edward's coach Mike Rolando's last at Greg True field in Elgin. "Mike and I were reflecting on the great games that went back-and-forth throughout the years between WA and St. Eds and thought it was only fitting that our match up would be the game that was to be Mike's last at home." Wheaton Academy would jump out to a 24 to 0 lead on the air attack of senior QB
Belay Brummel, who went 16 for 21 and 268 yards of passing and 4 TDs. One of those passes was a 42 yard strike to one of Brummel's favorite targets,
Breck Peacock, who on the first play on offense make a behind-the-shoulder toe tap inbounds on a well-covered pass. The Warrior defense would hold St. Eds to 27 yards of rushing with a defensive core that played a wide arrays of substitutes.Â
The playoff eligible Warriors (6-1) are back at home next Friday to take on Elmwood Park (1-5), game time 7:30pm.
