Football Wins Big, Improves to 2-0

September 2nd, 2022- Wheaton Academy notched a shutout in a matchup that was over early against an upstart Christ the King program. Senior QB Belay Brummel played a half of football and managed to go 6 for 7 for just over 100 yards and 2 TDs. The tandem effort of running backs Stephen Fellowes (So.) and Gavin Pedone (Sr.) tallied two TDs each. The Warriors entered halftime up 47-0.
An experienced crew of sophomores made an impression on defense. Stephen Fellowes added to his offensive exploits with an interception on defense while Brandon Kiebles (So.) and Jeremy Johanik (So.) led the team in tackles.
Senior kicker, Declan Finnegan, who is also the starting goalie on Wheaton Academy's reigning state champion soccer team, put the ball into the end zone for touchbacks five times on kickoffs.
The Warriors (2-0) host Aurora Central Catholic (0-2) next Friday, September 9 at 7:30pm at Wheaton Academy's Performance Trust Field.
