Plenty of Goals as WA JV Boys and Geneva tie 3-3

After a morning of harsh weather, the WA JV Boys hosted Geneva High School in the midst of a downpour.  The Wheaton Academy boys were outsized by the Vikings and found themselves defending furiously in the opening few minutes of the game.  They were able to hold of the attacks from the Vikings and took control of the possession in the game.  Eight minutes into the first half, Owen Setran found the ball on the right wing and cut the ball back onto his left foot and swung it into the box.  Kade Clousing got onto the end of it and buried into the net for the first goal of the game and his first of the season.  The Warriors maintained the majority of possession after the first goal, but Geneva was dangerous on set pieces.  In the 25th minute, Geneva capitalized on a corner to draw the game level.  As halftime drew close and the rain subsided, it looked as if the game would remain tied.  However, three minutes before halftime Jack Kilgallon had a different idea.  Jack found space and time about 30 yards out from the box and struck a rocket off the cross bar and into the net for his first goal of the season, and perhaps the best goal of his soccer career.  
The Warriors began the second half with a 2-1 lead, but a quick counter in the 39th minute saw Geneva pull level.  The Warriors surged forward and looked for another goal.  In the 49th minute, the Warriors took the lead for the third time in the game.  Jack Kilgallon played a curling ball from his own half of the field that found Owen Setran making a strong run.  Owen Setran's shot ricocheted off a defender and the post and was then slotted into the goal by Kade Clousing for his second goal of the day.  Unfortunately, the Vikings pulled back a goal in the 59th minute to draw the game level at 3-3.  The Warriors pushed for a winner in the final ten minutes but were unable to grab the victory.  It was a hard fought game and an entertaining performance at home.
