JV Boys Grab First Win of the Season

The JV Boys hosted Aurora Central Catholic today on a scorching afternoon.  The Warriors immediately began the attack by scoring in the first minute of the game off a Kilgallon connection.  Jack Kilgallon passed the ball into the box where Seamus Kilgallon finished to open the scoring.  Five minutes later, Owen Setran played the ball into Seamus Kilgallon who buried his second goal of the game.  In the 14th minute, Luke Holwerda brought the ball down the left wing and cut it back to Seamus Kilgallon.  Seamus centered the ball to Max Dominguez, who slotted it home from outside the box for the third goal of the game and his second of the season.  In the 17th minute, Kade Clousing passed the ball into Brian Henry to make it 4-0.  Seven minutes later, Brian Henry scored again off a pass from Paul Bello.  The Warriors went into a halftime with a comfortable 5-0 lead, but were looking for stronger possession and connecting passes as they started the 2nd half.  To open the second half, the Warriors kicked off, possessed for the opening minute, and were able to score after a series of well connected passes.  Jack Kilgallon played the ball into Kade Clousing who scored his 4th goal of the season.  Two minutes later, Jack Kilgallon completed his hattrick of assists by finding Owen Hardy in the box.  Owen nutmegged the keeper to make it 7-0.  At this point, the remaining time in the game was cut in half in accordance with IHSA rules.  Before the end of the game, the Warriors were able to collect a final goal on the night.  DJ Pollino found the ball in the box, dribbled past a couple of defenders and put the ball into the back of the net.  The Warriors gained their first win of the seasion with an 8-0 win over ACC and were able to work on possession and strong passes.  Perhaps more importantly, the Warriors were able to find their first shutout of the season and defended well.  The Warriors play next on September 9th against Maine West.
