The girls cross country team continued its success by winning the sectional for the first time in 12 years! Tying Riverside Brookfield with 77 points, the Warriors won the sectional on the 6
th runner tiebreaker. Senior
Julia Robleski won the sectional, while junior
Stephanie Gregersen finished 3
rd. Both of these runners earned all-sectional honors.
Sophie Lindquist was the 6
th runner, and finished in 32
nd place, outpacing Riverside Brookfield's 6
th runner. The girls will be competing in the IHSA State Final race next Saturday at 11am.
The boys season came to a close after the sectional. Sophomore
Owen Eldersveld set a personal best by 19 seconds, while senior
Ryan Wittstock set a personal best on the Kress Creek course. Senior
Jeffrey Ridge missed the last individual qualifying place by 9 seconds. Overall the boys finished 13
th in a difficult sectional.
